Desktop preview · v0.5.0-preview.3

On your own computer.
For your next conversation.

Choose the right system, read the steps, then download. Linchang includes local document recognition, audio transcription, and a practice interface. AI assistance uses your own model API key; provider charges are separate.

These are free previews, not final releases. Windows is unsigned; Mac has only an ad-hoc signature and is not notarised. Your system may block them. Verify the source, respect device policy, and do not disable protection.

CHOOSE YOUR BUILD

First, check your computer.

These remain the public previews from 4 October 2026. This website's visual update does not replace or automatically update desktop software you have downloaded.

Windows · Portable ZIP

Windows 10 / 11 · x64

Extract the whole ZIP before running. No separate Node.js or Python installation or administrator rights are required. Keep the app and recognition resources together.

Ad-hoc signature only, without Developer ID signing or notarisation. Gatekeeper blocks it. Read the System Settings approval steps.

Desktop AI uses your DeepSeek or compatible API key, and the provider may charge by usage. Zhiliang-hosted AI and payments remain off. The web workspace has open registration without invitation codes, for materials, jobs, and your own practice records.

INSTALL, WITH CARE

Check the source.
Then open with care.

A security warning means the system has not verified a final publisher identity. It is not a reason to turn protection off.

Apple Silicon Mac: install and open safely

The app is not Developer ID-signed or notarised. An “unidentified developer” or verification warning is the expected security behaviour. First check the complete ZIP.

  1. Extract the ZIP and move 临场.app to Applications. Do not run from inside an archive.
  2. Try opening it once. Close the warning if it is blocked.
  3. Only if the source and checksum match and your device policy permits it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, find the notice for this blocked app, select Open Anyway, and follow the system's confirmation prompts.
  4. If no approval option appears or the system still refuses, stop and contact us. Do not disable Gatekeeper, strip safety metadata in bulk, or bypass device-management policy.

Do not use a terminal “fix” that turns off system-wide security checks. Respect school or company rules on managed devices.

Windows 10 / 11 x64: handle security warnings

The package has no code signature. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” or an unknown publisher, verify the download source and SHA-256 before deciding to proceed.

  1. Extract the entire ZIP into a new folder, such as Documents\Linchang. Do not launch inside the ZIP or copy only the EXE.
  2. Open Interview Assist.exe from that folder. Keep its accompanying models, document parsers, and recognition resources.
  3. If your device policy permits it, use SmartScreen's More info option to check the application name, then choose Run anyway. If no approval option is provided, stop and respect the policy.

You do not need to disable antivirus, your firewall, or device management. Do not run a package from an unfamiliar source or with a mismatched checksum.

What should I try on my first run?

Start with fictional or test materials, not a real résumé or confidential company documents.

  1. Check the interface and manual practice first. For AI assistance, enter your own service URL, model, and key in the AI connection settings. You may use the key for this process only.
  2. Import a test résumé and company text. Read the extracted result, then confirm it. A company name alone is not company research.
  3. Type a question, inspect the excerpts to be submitted, then generate, copy, or export a reference. Model requests may incur provider charges.
  4. Try audio and screenshots only as needed. Read permission prompts, check recognized text, then decide whether to submit it. Recognition happens locally.

Computer audio and microphone capture are alternatives, not simultaneous sources. The app does not automatically separate speakers. Obtain the interviewer's permission before live assistance.

CHECK THE FILE

Make sure it is
the file you meant to get.

SHA-256 checks that the contents match the published file. It does not replace a code signature or prove publisher identity. If it differs, do not run the app. Download again or contact us.

Windows: calculate it with PowerShell

Replace the path with the file's actual location. Compare every character of the output with the Windows checksum above:

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath 'C:\YourDownloadFolder\linchang-windows-x64-v0.5.0-preview.3.zip'
Mac: calculate it with Terminal

This example uses Downloads; change the path if you saved elsewhere. Compare every character of the output with the Mac checksum above:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/linchang-mac-applesilicon-v0.5.0-preview.3.zip

KNOW THE PREVIEW

What is checked.
What is still ahead.

Preview limitations should be clear. Passing one flow does not establish every feature or every device.

How do accounts, the web, and desktop connect today?

Cross-browser web login, explicit saves, and readback are live, with open registration. The public Mac package has passed public-account login, separate consent, material readback, and test-account deletion checks. A successful web login does not mean desktop materials are already synchronized.

Desktop writeback, full bidirectional sync, the same public Windows flow, and real-phone touch, upload, and keyboard interaction still need independent acceptance. Hosted AI and payments remain off. Desktop AI uses your own key.

Is this a final release? Does it update automatically?

No. These public packages remain v0.5.0-preview.3 previews. Final signing and notarisation, trusted automatic updates, and full device and production-operations acceptance are outstanding. Updated website branding does not mean these packages have changed.

Automatic upgrades are not available. Before upgrading, export your materials, quit every version, and independently back up the complete app-data directory. Do not open a newer data directory with an older app; incompatible formats may truncate or overwrite data.

Where do local materials and model requests go?

Desktop audio transcription, screenshot recognition, and document extraction happen locally. Generation sends the question, enabled excerpts, session context, and necessary recent conversation to your configured provider. Original files, raw audio, and screenshots are not included in that request. Preparation, rewriting, mock practice, and review may each make model requests.

Confirmed desktop materials, session context, and records you save use operating-system encryption, or remain in memory if it is unavailable. Terminology rules and exported files are plain text. Answers are not automatically archived; raw audio is not saved. Closing a screenshot clears the app's memory copy, not your system clipboard.

Web uploads follow a different path: after confirmation, a file goes to the server for extraction. Review and explicitly save the text to your account before cross-browser readback. Hosted AI remains off. Product and download pages do not collect résumés, interview records, API keys, or payment details, or load third-party analytics or fonts. Do not email secrets or keys.

Can I rely directly on recognition or AI answers?

Recognition, references, and answers can be wrong. Speed depends on your model service and network. Accents, noise, multi-column PDFs, low-resolution screenshots, and code indentation need checking. The app does not execute code, promise a job offer, or guarantee invisibility.

Practise with the actual computer, audio devices, and meeting software first. Follow the interviewer's rules on AI assistance and capture before using it in an interview.

Can Intel Mac, Windows ARM, or a phone replace these builds?

There is no Intel Mac build. The Windows package is x64; ARM and 32-bit execution are unverified, so do not assume compatibility. Phones can access the web entry, but touch, uploads, and keyboard flows still need device acceptance. They do not replace desktop local capture and recognition.
